Cookie policy

Swastik Codes does not use cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising. The app does store some data in your browser so that it works; this page lists it.

The marketing website

The pages on swastik.codes outside the app (this page, the blog, the feature pages and so on) set no cookies, run no analytics and load no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Everything is served from our own domain.

There is one exception that is not a cookie: the website's pages check your browser's local storage for the app's sign-in key (swc.session). If you are signed in to the app, the pages show Open app instead of the sign-in and sign-up buttons. The check happens only in your browser; nothing is sent to us.

The app

The app at swastik.codes/app signs you in with tokens rather than cookies. To work, it keeps the following in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB:

WhatWhyHow long
Session tokens (swc.session)Keep you signed inUntil you sign out or the session expires
Local workspaces, including the Scratch PadKeep work on this device onlyUntil you delete them or clear browser data
Open tabs, layout and settings (theme, font size and similar)Remember how you left the appUntil you clear browser data
Current values of variablesKeep secrets on your device instead of syncing themUntil you change them or clear browser data
Cookie jar for the APIs you callSend cookies set by your APIs on later requests, like a browser wouldUntil you delete them in the cookie manager or clear browser data
Encrypted vault (if you use it)Store secrets encrypted on your deviceUntil you delete it

These items are strictly necessary for features you use, so we do not ask for consent before storing them. They are not used to track you.

Cookies from the APIs you call

When an API you test sets cookies in its responses, the app keeps them in its own cookie jar (shown in the cookie manager) so later requests can send them back. These are the API's cookies, stored in your browser for your testing; they are not cookies on swastik.codes, and we do not use them for anything else.

Managing storage

You can sign out, delete cookies in the app's cookie manager, or clear your browser's site data for swastik.codes at any time. Clearing site data signs you out and deletes local workspaces, so export anything you want to keep first.

Changes and contact

If we ever add cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Questions: support@swastik.codes. See also our privacy policy.
